Idea Born
Responding to the growing awareness among Afro-Dutch people, the idea arises for an 'African' oriented platform. The first priorities are an exploratory study and the establishment of an initiative group.

Initiative Group Gathers
The initiative group meets for the first time to discuss the profile and the organization. The group forms a broad representation of movements within the Afro-Dutch community.
Autumn 2017
Exploratory Study Completed
The exploratory study is completed after six months. The conversations, analyzes and vision formulation have provided a clear picture. Africa's cultural heritage is central to everything we do.

Ojise Chosen As Name
After a creative process, 'Ojise' is chosen as the name. Ojise means messenger in Yoruba. The name was chosen because we have a lot of knowledge to share about the rich African history; from the beginning to now.

Website Launched
Ojise launches her website with information about African awareness, cultural heritage and spirituality. There is also a blog about developments in the community.

First Lecture & Exhibition
During the celebration of Keti Koti, Ojise has a day program with a lecture carousel and exhibition. Central themes are mental liberation and African consciousness. The program is well attended.

Celebration Black History Month
June 2019 is the first time Black History Month is celebrated in Rotterdam and Vlissingen. The celebration is dedicated to the African cultural heritage. The lectures are at InHolland Hogeschool and Maritiem Musuem Vlissingen.

Establishment of the Ojise School
Ojise School starts at the same time as the official school year. There are courses and training on the African Timeline, Mental Power and Spirituality. Students can register via ojise.com.

First Year Guide Ojise
Ojise publishes her first year guide in the spring of 2021. For those interested, the guide is a first introduction to Ojise's vision, activities and team. The year guide is published digitally and is also available in print version.
